Fresh Ain't One
@Nahlidge @mic s @Blackflags @Joe Boston @Meks. @any other audio heads active?
@FrankieHollywood
I usually hate this, but @fresh can I request you drop the lyrics to your verse? lol. It's real hard to hear what you're saying in a couple spots. You can hear @Pair-A-Dyce clear, but to make it fair, I think he should post his lyrics if he feels the need to too.
@fresh sorry on my phone at work. I'm not sure if this is ur first audio battle I've never heard u before but quality does play a key factor I couldn't really make u out lyrical wise it was muffled by overpowering of the beat do u spit on a mic and what program are u using. Quality reminded me of when people use to rap on a cassette tape real raw sounding but kind of hard to hear the words. By rhythme of the ear though ur delivery sounded good up until the last 30 seconds u slipped up had too many sylables stuffed into one bar. I would recommend getting a USB mic good one cost ya like 100 dollars for what ur doing as starting off and get familiar with a recording program. It was just hard to hear the lyrics so can't really critique ya but quality u gotta work on.
@Pair A Dyce feel ur more experienced and u had this hands down. Lyrically I'm not gonna break ur bars down but the quality was great ur delivery n flow also it was understandable and listenable.
This is battle based upon just overall more audio experience n quality VS someone who is experimenting it. I just felt Dyce had the upperhand. Dope fresh is getting into that aspect just put more work in quality wise if ur serious with it.
V/Dyce
I recorded this straight on my phone like a video battle, no mic no program.

This isn't really fair to judge... I mean quality HAS to play a part otherwise it's just a text battle. And Pair took it in a landslide with quality.
Fresh you had some nice lines (reading your verse since I can't hear it for shit) and I think with quality this could have gone either way. Pair didn't have any "Wow" bars... the Paul Walker could have ended up cool if the concept got developed a little better. It was just a name you picked out.
Pair still takes it because he's the only one that really dropped an audio verse.
What are you guys listening to this on? My stereo I can here everything
Errrrrrrg, ewwww, the quality was indeed a big issue, but I COULD still hear/understand it, so it's not an automatic elimination.
Making the case for @fresh :
First off, I'm from the old-school of thought where display of *technique* in a battle ultimately wins MY vote (punchlines, definite rhyme, metaphors, flow, multis, similes, personifications, alliterations, humor, personals, & TRUTHS). With that said, I enjoyed "SOME" of your verse. A couple nice hard punches, and couple nice setups - and I liked your name-flip of him too. BUT... beyond that, this was a pretty lazy generic *Fill-In-The-Blank-Battle* verse, where you couldn've replaced my name in there, or Joe Boston's, or KnowP's, or Nahlidge's, or ProFro's, etc-etc. Mos definitely didn't suck... but there was Nothing personal or focused about it in that regard, for me to dig it fully. Like mentioned above, there were parts near the end of yours that were really off-beat - which I think was due to you not following your early structure, and having them long, wordy, run-on bars near the end. Another area that's gonna hurt your chances is, the TRUTH aspect. He wasn't "off beat" (you were moreso); I didn't sense any "the Lil B influence" in his style or rhymes (so that was an ineffective jab); etc.
My favorite parts from you were:
Quote:
"...If you're what's considered a pair of dice
Then I'm rollin 5 and I'm gettin' a fuckin yahtzee..."
"...If your well rounded like 360, then I'm 300 wheres the mothafuckin Spartans at?
It takes a man to grow a pair, how the fuck you think ya name can start with that..."
Making the case for @Pair-A-Dyce :
You definitely brought a more developed, confident, and focused battle verse here. Better steadier flow, harder punches, better setups, & a couple better executed personals; and you had more of the performance aspect too. He prolly had a few more multis & your's isn't flawless, as a few of your jabs were generic fill-in-the-blank too, but as a whole - your lyrics entertained me more. I also give you the edge by having more quotables to me, than fresh...
My favorite parts from you were:
Quote:
"...Until I knock yo ass out I got the big boy hands,
I'm in a b boy stance, I got the d boy jams,
Only thing you got man is ya weak ass fans..."
"...Dexter wit the rhymes, treat the lines like a blade,
Only thing fresh is when I'm shootin you the fade
Or let me make it clear cause I guess you didn't hear,
Number never lie, you just a rookie over here..."
"...I'm in the elevator boxin like solange did jay,
You ja rule after 50 cent and time upstate..."
"...You ain't never seen a block how you thinkin that you hot,
Bow wow bigger than them records that you drop..."

Thanks for the feed doc much appreciated.
Good battle @Pair-A-Dyce
I'd like to get a mic n shit n get more into the audio side of things
^^^ @fresh - What exactly did you record this on your phone with? App? Program?
Reason I ask is - one thing we did at a previous rap forum I was at was utilize the iphone app "Voice Memo". Even without equipment, it's usually super-clear. I use it off the net all the time, especially when writing for actual recordings or ghostwriting a part for someone else to sing for me, when I don't have paper nearby & don't want to forget the specific flow. If you haven't checked it yet, it might give you a better option to record better with.

Yahtzee
weak battle. as far as punchlines and creative bars, i got it even which is odd considering Fresh usually has a few dope punchlines per verse. as for audio flow and overall MC quality, Pair got this hands down. He def is the more polished audio head here. Fresh.... just dont. lmao
