How do you use auto tune after you have recorded?

I would like to know how you use auto tune after you have recorded something. I heard you can do it with your wave editor (im using fruity loops, so edison) but I can't seem to figure it out. I can only get auto tune to work as an insert and work only in real time which is not what i want. I would like to be able to pick out certain words or so from a rap or song and auto tune them to my liking. How do I do this because I can't seem to figure out how to make auto tune pop up and not work in real time.

omfg alright listen up. no one needs to be an asshole about it first of all. if your not going to help i don't want your fucking opinion. second of all im not using it to sing like tpain. im looking to get an effect on rap vocals such as kanye west, lil wayne, or the rest of young money use. or like the bep do in boom boom pow. i want to know how to manually use auto tune to change the voice after it has been recorded so i can make it go up or down how i want.

you need an autotune tutorial. Check youtube. There should be some tutorials on there showing you how to adjust the settings.
