Re: I'm building a Computer
I need a computer to English translator.
Re: I'm building a Computer
My biggest fear is it blowing up when I try to put it together.
Re: I'm building a Computer
Talk to Opey, he's good with computers I hear.
Re: I'm building a Computer
I guess I don't really need the sound card cuz the mother board has one,
and I'm not really that into high quality sound or anything. Video is more
important. That saves 100 bucks. Cool.
And I guess I don't nee the case fan either... The case is called Cooler
Master for God's sakes.
Re: I'm building a Computer
I just have a general idea about overclocking, but don't
know exactly when and how to do it.
But I doubt I would need to though, due to the power
of the system being built compared to what I need to
do with it.
Basically the most hardcore usage for this machine will
be for graphics, movie editing, and maybe 3d rendering
and anmiations with some multitasking. I think the
system will handle it well.
Re: I'm building a Computer
yet the case is still only 50 bucks....your going to want a cooling fan...you can never go wrong...and if dust clogs it up that is going to trap heat raising the temp....even at low ambient...and after all that customization, youd hate to get a blue screen or everheat...get the fan, its cheap
Re: I'm building a Computer
Why are you getting a dual core with a $1200 budget? You can get a true quad or a good quad that runs through 2 buses but oc's at 12GHz for like $600 (Opey might correct me AGAIN). And your processor along with your motherboard are the base parts that should be the best... its harder to upgrade them then things like RAM and hard drives

Look into the Q6600 processor for that stuff... seriously
Re: I'm building a Computer
GS.. lol
you can get a 8800GTX for 199 here.. GS is shyt, and you can get a proc/gfx/MB good specs for 400... than u need a case, power supply etc. 1200 is a ripoff..
Re: I'm building a Computer
Correct me if I'm wrong, but E8400 has more ghz than Q6600 and runs
most applications better at the moment cuz not that many applications
support quads right now. And the motherboard supports upgrades to
quads, although I'm not sure if the bus speed is adequate for higher end
quads in the future.
I wanted the GTX but they ranged around 350 dollars...
Where can I get these parts cheaper?
Re: I'm building a Computer
I found another one for graphics card.
EVGA 512-P3-N801-AR GeForce 8800GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported
Video Card - Retail $190
Re: I'm building a Computer
what do you plan on using this PC for?
Re: I'm building a Computer
computer graphics, video editing, animation, and maybe 3d rendering.
Re: I'm building a Computer
aight I'll hit you back with some specs. I'm in class right now.
