The Difference Is On The Other Side
I’m on the other side,
Where shadows fall, and the darkness lingers universal.
I am not god; I have the power of something more personal.
I am a poet yet a man…
The difference is on the other side…
Through steel I am confine, although where my reflection lies.
A face so somber, who am I?. What is my purpose here?
Where do these thoughts generate, how can they be conceived
How can religion be so bias and yet we’re told to believe
A bible, a book that has been passed down through generations
Supposedly unaltered and unchanged yet truth remains in,
The pages of a book that’s reminiscing the ages of the aimless
Our fate is aimless; we all depart this life, no matter where we hide
No matter how dark the space, no matter the time and place
We all die.
So I ask you, “is death really something to fear and loathe?”
Or more possibly so, that it’s beautiful and wrongly exposed
Just think for a moment… If a life after death were far greater
Then would we carry out this life’s sentence and remain here?
Among this earths unlawful, denouncing, ominous, livid land
No… we wouldn’t carry out this calculated time in existence
We would walk straight to the finish line within an instance
Take all the sentimental values with us and wither into the distance.
We only fear what we don’t understand and then we judge,
We choose to judge.
Judgment is FAR out of our reach and beyond our feeble minds
The only judgment ever passed is during the demise of our lives
Is this where we stand among the common man, in front or behind?,
But never beside.
So I sit here and write these things, I write these dreams
Just so I can enlighten beings with an insightful meaning
Of where this life is leading…
This life is leading straight into a conclusion were lives end
And time ages no more, but I await in an anticipated sense
For a death so beautiful I can forget a life full of regrets
Into a black euphoria were I can reminisce on life’s intent
I’m on the other side,
Where shadows fall, and the darkness lingers universal.
I am not god; I have the power of something more personal.
I am a poet yet a man…
The difference is on the other side...

Re: The Difference Is On The Other Side
I liked it, you asked important questions. If you could answer your own questions within the end of this poem however, would make it just that much more powerfull... Do you know what I mean?
