Just A Little Mod Love
As my house burns, i sit and ponder in flames
as the world turns, what's the importance of names
it seems to me you need the right circle of friends
to acquire access to anything this site mends
unatainable to the norm, far above decadence
a prisoner trapped in a single simple sentence
a mask needs worn, and old freindships torn,
who do you have to appease to shape your form
it's an everlasting battle between the masses
fighting for rights they never see without glasses
a corrupt government we are governed by here
when post are swiped quicker than alcholics do beer
but it apparantly clear that power here is abused
me, i take my punishment, im just the accused,
in a land where power and the corrupt are infused
Torn between the action i love and actions of others
makes me think maybe some of the mods are lovers
but why hold all of the officials for the actions of few
maybe you learn from them and that's what they do
In an instance finally words speak louder with power
maybe it goes unheard, with this insignificant hour.
Maybe its a sore that I can't stand to leave alone
maybe its so i can get a post back, maybe i've grown

WEll a good om and i can see that this is on the post issue na mean. I liked the om in general it had good rhyming and didn't directyl go all like Fuck fuck ban bang i kill the mods shit na mean. That would have recked the whole thing but i liked the whole vibe of this though many will say it was uneeded to write about such a situation but i ain't biased like that, i just read and judge and overall this was written very articulatly comparing to other mod power om's na mean. The only thing i didn't like was the title you should have titled it more better as the topic is written well na mean. Overall, this was an aight and good read which was worth the time i spent on it, Stay up homie^.
Check this om if you get a minute, "Intelligble Thought"

I understand your qualm about how this site works, but let me use this site as a small metaphor for life... Usually, when a person or a group of people create something, they tend to see themselves as sort of priviledged to that creation, and are then entitled to make decisions based solely on their own opinions. Call it minority rules. Let's take, say, an insurance company. A new one, like e-surance. The owners of that corporation have all the say in how they run their company. Now, people who are attempting to "climb the ladder" at E-surance are probably not avoiding contact with these people. They are, in fact, complimenting them, having conversations with them, and attempting to show a vested interest in their ideas and corporation. These people, the "kiss-asses" we shall call them, will tend to be at the forefront of the ownership's minds, because they are thought of as better working, more easy to be social with, and also as a friend or a familiar face.
Now, let's take this site. The Mods are the people who make this entire site possible. Without their work and vested interest, we would not have a site to post our lyrics on. Having them as friends, then, as you say, would immediately help to put you on their list of "familiar faces," or handles as it were. This is a simple truth of the world. If there ever was something you've been the leader of, or created, I'm sure most of the wealth/attention you shared was with people close to you. Correct? If you were hired at a new job as the manager and you were allowed to hire four people, would you just hire any person who walked in off the street, or close friends who you know, enjoy the company of, and respect?
You might argue that you would hire the people with the most qualification, the best interview and personal appearance. But, if your decision was between a person you had just met with all these qualities, or a friend that exhibited the same qualities and there was no discernable difference between the two, you would probably choose your friend.
Hopefully you understand, now, how the world works, because it is basically how human beings work. We are all selfish. It is part of being human.
That aside, you still wrote a good piece. But that's not what I wanted to talk about. You obviously wrote this from a content standpoint, so I wanted to analyze that. You're complaining about something that, quite simply, should never be complained about. Your work ethic means nothing if you cannot establish personal relationships with the people who are owners, creators, and leaders. That is, effectively, how you become one of those people. And then pass on the benefits of being one to people close to you.
Just a 'lil philosophy and human-thinking analysis for ya. Stay up.

THANKS FOR THE CRIT FORM BOTH, MUCH APPRECIATED, AND ENGIVALE I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOUR CONCEPT YOU ARE WORKING FOR THIS IS TRULY HOW THE WORLD WORKS, WHICH IS WHY I HAVE, IN A SAD WAY, ISOLATED MY SELF FROM MOST OF HUMANITY. cORPORATE WORLDS DO WORK THIS WAY, HOWEVER THIS ALL BEING SAID I THINK THEIR IS A FINE LINE ANYONE WITH POWER SHOULD NOT CROSS, IF A PERSON MISUSES POWER SHOULD THE PEOPLE THEY ARE ASSOCIATED WITH BE PUNISHED? OR PERHAPS THE PERSON WHO GAVE THEM POWER?
-
Perhaps. And sometimes they are. But oftentimes, the "misuse" of that power is simply the opinion of someone who does not have it... Think of how you might act in their situation. Although I'm sure you're a perfectly moral person who treats every human being on a fair and unbiased scale (such a person does not exist), please note the difficulty it takes to be a leader or a controller in an environment. There are always decisions to be made, and as the cliche goes, you cannot please everyone.
I mean, just think how tough God's job is. I wouldn't want to do it. And any small portion of playing God, even as a group leader for an elementary school project, is a difficult task. You are looked at with jealousy by those who do not lead, treated well because of your position and not necessarily for who you are or your actions, and criticized unjustly very often.
The MODS here are good leaders and do the best they can, from what I've seen. Some leaders are corrupt, and actually, most are not, I think. Or they wouldn't have been able to get into their position. I believe most people are good, so it does no good to isolate yourself from humanity... having no friends will mean, though, in the long run, that you'll feel alone or different from other human beings. But stop to ask yourself - is it your own fault that you feel isolated? Have you treated others with an arrogant or rude attitude that has made other people less warm toward you?
i.e. this post. You're not making any friends.
-
not that i don't have a close circle myself, but i have no need for unimportant realtionships, i have my wife and my children, and a selcted group of friends most i have had for 11+ years so i am not claiming to be a saint, but i am a very loyal and unselfish person to the people who have earned a spot, but like you said in your first verse most people are selfish, then in your 2nd most are good, i just don't have the patience to try and figure out which are which,
also i completely agree with you on the mods here, most do an excellent job, same as the wrtiters on this site, but the purpose or one of the points i was trying to make is why judge all by the actions of a few,
i see you conduct yourself in a well manner and wish more people were like you on this site, but that is irrelevant for it will never come to pass, i write alot and take a high amount of pride in doing the best i can, so i guess in the wisdom i havn't learned yet, i would like a small amount of respect with out have to rub shoulders with the right people, and actually be judged on my talent and skill
-
Well met. I understand your qualm. It will only piss you off for a couple of days until you remember you don't really care - you care about the people close to you.
Like all of us.
-
WEll Crost i always judge on writing anyway and like it when everyone does the same to me.

This was a pretty good OM, man. I like your style, and just like the average vocabulary you use to help people visualize what point you're trying to get across. I was a little edgy about your name at first, but once I Read this it totally rearranged my thoughts about you. There was some good emotion in this piece also, which I liked about it, and I totally got a new perspective from you when I read this piece man, it was absolutely great. So good job on this one man.

I liked this, man. Rhymes were just nice.. and your message was clear for everyone to read, but you didn't bitch about it. I like that. Some things are just how they are, and you have to adapt to them rather than try to go against them. I'm not saying don't be opinionated but sometimes there's nothing you can do. Anywys, hjust skimming past OM to clear shit up and stumbled across this. Props.
