Lost in the woods

I awake to the starved howls from a pack of beasts through slits my eyes see moss covered trees
I lie in a clearing of three feet with scattered moonlight & freshly dewed soil beneath fallen leaves
Transported to an enchanted forest of pure deceit delivered on the bastard wings of speed & weed
Visuals melt onto an LSD backdrop of deranged imagery where sanity oozes and humanity bleeds

It’s a curious concoction, a furious Molotov sold to the highest bidder at the bitterest of auctions
Confined to the dark depths of an unrefined mind I find myself lost in the woods time after time
Cold earth pressed against my pale cheek as my heart skips a failed beat it seems as if all is bleak
I lift my frail shell from the mental depths of hell, dust off w/the wings of Angels on the spot I fell

I rise to my feet teeth clenched and sweat drenched I’m quick to draw my sword from it’s sheath
I can sense the evil that taunts me, circling, watching and stalking, minions sent from beneath
Moonlight dances off the virgin edge of my blade as I strike at the clearing where demons play
Fluid motions transform a blur of colors and brilliant flashes into a symphony on vivid display

A drug induced whirlwind paints the scenery to which I am kin, truth is we’re all bothers to sin
Slain beasts no longer howl yet I’m amongst the rotted trees of knowledge where fruit is foul
Locked in eternal battle between dark and light, I vow to fight till the end with all my might
Death waits in the shadows as I battle insanity, lost in the woods, light years beyond reality

this was a nice piece the imagery was amazing. i really liked the approach to the subject as well every thing was nice. when i first took a look at the structure i already had in my head that i was going to say the lines were streched but i only saw one that bugged me. the internal rhymes and multi's really helped to speed things up and keep me focused on this interesting take. it is funny cuz i actually know a guy who says that acid puts him in the true reality state and i dunno that just kinda hit hime when i read this piece. i liked it all the technical stuff was there and you made this a more interesting read then if you had just been lost.
